Father-son booked in disproportionate assets case

DODA, Aug 30: Anti Corruption Bureau Doda has registered case of disproportionate assets against a Senior Assistant posted in the office of BDO Assar and his son, a Junior Engineer posted in PWD(R&B) Division Ramban.
After formal registration of the case, ACB teams also conducted house searches of the accused public servants at village Assar, District Doda and seized some incriminating documents, Pass books and FDRs related to the case.
A case under FIR No.07/2019 u/s 5(1) (e) read with section 5(2) J&K P.C. Act. Svt 2006 has been registered against Nazir Ahmed son of Kher Din of village Assar, District Doda, Senior Assistant in BDO Office Assar and his son namely Arif Waquar, Junior Engineer, presently working in PWD (R&B) Division Ramban.
They are accused of accumulating huge moveable/ immovable assets quite disproportionate to their known legal sources of income. The cognizance into the matter was taken on the basis of a verification conducted to look into the allegations of raising assets disproportionate to their known sources of income by the duo.
During the course of verification, it surfaced that Nazir Ahmed and his son Arif Waquar are in possession of one triple storey house/one single storey house constructed on a piece of land measuring one kanal one marla, one double storey house constructed on another piece of land measuring 12 Marlas, land measuring 03 Kanal 12 Marlas on which shops are constructed at Assar, land, measuring 22 Kanals at Kurmail (Assar) and one sick unit (factory) established in one kanal land on National Highway Batote-Doda at Assar. Verification further revealed that Arif Waquar had also purchased one Maruti car bearing number JK14C-5815.
The expenditure incurred by both of them in acquiring these assets has been found much more than the legitimate income earned by them from all known sources of income. These assets found in possession of Nazir Ahmed and his son Arif Waquar the expenditure incurred by them in acquiring the same are disproportionate to their known sources of income.
After obtaining search warrant from the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda, ACB teams were constituted and deputed to conduct house searches of the accused public servants at village Assar. During searches, some incriminating documents, Pass books and FDRs related to the case were recovered / seized. Investigation of the case is going on.
