UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Ramnagar police arrested three notorious live stock thieves including father-son duo and recovered stolen live stock and a vehicle.
As per police sources, on December 15, a complaint was received from Angrezu, son of Anant Ram, a resident of village Lehar, tehsil Ramnagar, that during the intervening night of December 13 and 14, some unidentified persons stole his 8 sheep valuing Rs 50,000 from his cattle shed.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 124/15 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Ramnagar police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, police team conducted raid in Chhatrari area and nabbed three notorious thieves including father-son.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Sadiq, son of Rustam, Mohammad Ayub, son of Mohammad Sadiq and Mohammad Ashraf, son of Rustam, trio residents of village Thillu Padar, Dudu, tehsil Latti.
During questioning, the accused confessed to commit the crime and on their disclosure, all sheep were recovered from Kaintha area. Besides this, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK08E-4153 was also recovered on their disclosure.
It is to mention that Mohammad Sadiq and his son Mohammad Ayub were involved in 10 FIRs registered at police station Basantgarh and both are history sheeters. Recently, Mohammad Ayub and his party also even stoned police party led by incharge police post Dudu, which had gone to arrest him.
Further investigation is going on.
Police team led by SHO Ramnagar police station Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Abhishek Sharma and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
