SAMBA, Apr 18: Vijaypur Police today arrested two drug peddlers with approximately 5.20 grams of heroin and recovered cash of Rs 1,77,260 from their possession.
“A team of Police Station Vijaypur while performing patrolling duty in Rakh Barotain area, found two persons including a lady wandering in the area in suspicious circumstances,” a police spokesman said.
He said on seeing the police team, both tried to escape from the spot but the alert police officials acted swiftly and apprehended both of them. “During checking, about 5.20 grams of heroin and cash amounting to Rs 1,77,260 were recovered from their possession,” he said adding, 3 mobile phones, recovered from the duo, were also seized in the instant case.
The spokesman said both the accused were later identified as father and daughter namely Roshan Din son of Faroz Din and Payaro Bibi wife of Mushtaq Ali, both residents of Rakh Barotain (Vijaypur, Samba).
“The duo was arrested and a case FIR Number 55/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Vijaypur,” he said, adding, further investigation into the case was started.
