Fast unto death stir at Budhal enters 4th day, 1 hospitalized

JAMMU, Feb 5:  While the indefinite protest dharna and fast unto death at Budhal entered fourth consecutive day today the people from Dharamsal (Kalakote)  and Doongi in Rajouri and Ghordi in Udhampur have also launched indefinite protest against Omar led Government demanding tehsil status for their respective areas.
Reports from Rajouri said that in Budhal about a dozen people are sitting on fast unto death and one of them Manzoor Malik had to be hospitalized as his condition deteriorated. He had refused to take treatment yesterday also. The people kept bazaar closed and vehicles were not allowed to ply on the road. All the establishments were closed in view of  protest.
The people took out a protest rally in Budhal town during the day and then sat on protest dharna at the venue where people are sitting on fast-unto-death. These people strongly criticized the NC and Congress leadership for doing most injustice with the people of Budhal area. They warned to shift their protest dharna in front of the office of DC Rajouri and if needed at the house of  Chief Minister shortly.
Meanwhile, the people from  Dharamsal area of Kalakote also came out on the road and held strong protest demonstration on Siot- Kalakote- Rajouri Road and disrupted movement of traffic for over three hours. They were demanding tehsil status for Dharamsal. They alleged that Government has not done justice with the area. They also raised slogans against local MLA, MP  and even the Chief Minister and PCC president. They warned to intensify their agitation if the Government failed to address their demand within four days.
The people from Doongi block area of  Rajouri accompanied by Sarpanchs and Panchs of  the  several Patwar Halqas thronged the office of  DC Rajouri and held strong protest demonstration today. They were also demanding tehsil status for Doongi area. They pointed out that it was an old Niabat and Block and deserved tehsil status but justice has not been done with the people of this area. Sarpanch Yash Paul, Abul Razak,  Sanjay Sharma, Talib Hussain and others were leading.
At Ghordi in district Udhampur, the people held strong protest and also observed bandh today. They were demanding tehsil status for Ghordi block. The villagers including several Sarpanchs  Bharat Bhushan, Joginder Kumar and  several Panchs besides local political leaders irrespective of their party affiliation joined hands together and held strong protest. They pointed out that there were 27 villages which fall in this block and the population is also more than 60,000. It is unfortunate that Ghordi block has been denied tehsil status. They were raising slogans against Omar Abdullah and  Congress leadership besides local MLA and MP. They also warned to intensify their agitation.
