UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: The ongoing protest at PHE Complex Udhampur by casual labours/need based/ ITI trained/CP workers of PWD/PHE/PDD/Irrigation and Forest Department, entered into 7th consecutive day and fast unto death by them into 2nd day on Wednesday.
The protesting workers raised slogans in support of their demands and vowed to continue the fast dharna till a formal announcement is made by the Government for their regularization.
One of the fastening leaders, namely Munshi Ram was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur after his condition deteriorated.
The fast dharna, being staged under the banner of United Front for regularization of the services of these daily rated workers, was also addressed by Ajay Samyalia, president of the Front and other leaders, including Balwan Singh, Mohan Singh Pathania, Sanjay Kumar, Arun Singh, Tilak Raj, Bal Krishan, Bhushan Lal, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Purshotam Singh, Falil Singh, Manmohan Singh, Sudershan Kumar and Sandeep Kumar.
