Srinagar, Apr 8: The moveable assets of National Conference (NC) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah, have risen by 455 percent during past 5 years, the affidavit filed by him before the Returning Officer of Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary constituency reveals.
As per the affidavit filed by Dr Farooq Abdullah yesterday before the Returning Officer in Srinagar, he has moveable property including cash, bank deposits and shares amounting to Rs 1.32 crore and two cars worth Rs 18 lakh. He has Rs 2 lakh cash, bank deposits of around Rs 1.24 crore and shares in Reliance worth Rs 6.64 lakh.
As per the affidavit filed by Dr Farooq Abdullah before the Returning Officer in Srinagar in 2009, he had moveable property including cash, bank deposits and shares amounting to around Rs 15 lakh and two cars worth Rs 18 lakh. He had Rs One lakh cash, bank deposits of around Rs 9.5 lakh and shares in Reliance worth Rs 4.26 lakh in 2009.
However, there was no increase in the immovable assets like land and residential houses worth Rs 11.60 crore.
The immovable assets include land worth Rs 80 lakh at Ganderbal, land worth Rs 90 lakh at Nandpora and land worth Rs 40 lakh at Soura in Srinagar.
Abdullah has also one third share in Dhanji Bhai Building at Sherwani Road Srinagar with present market value of Rs 6 crore. He has two house one each at Gupkar, Srinagar and Bhantindhi in Jammu worth 3.5 crore.
