JAMMU: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, today inspected various Auqaf properties in Jammu and took stock of pace of ongoing work on these projects.
The Minister also visited the under-construction Boys Hostel near G M Science College Jammu and the under-construction mosques at Ustad Mohalla and Bahu Fort to take stock of pace of work.
While briefing the Minister about the activities of the Auqaf, the Administrator Auqaf informed that Rs. 5.6 crore has been incurred on the 100-beded Boys Hostel so far and is nearing completion.
Andrabi directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work on all the ongoing projects and complete them within their stipulated timeframes. He asked for judicious utilization of funds released for the projects.
Several deputations called on the Minister on the occasion and apprised him of their concerns. The Minister assured the deputations of looking into the concerns raised at the earliest, reiterating that development of the State a top priority of the current government.
Speaking on the occasion, Andrabi said various major developmental and flagships programmes have been launched in the State with the aim to improve the socio-economic condition of the people. He also said focused attention is being given to upgrading and promotion of the tourist places of the State.
Senior officers of Auqaf accompanied the Minister during his tour.
