This has reference to the news item ‘Punjab farmers to continue bloakcade of passengers trains’ DE Nov 19, 2020. There is urgent need to redress the issues of the farming community who is on strike in Punjab for last two months now. All stakeholders, particularly the Central Government, must find an amicable solution to this impasse.
The impasse is affecting daily lives of the people other than the farmer community as well. The rail blockade has hit passenger and goods railway service which is impacting the common man. The political parties must make efforts to pursuade farmers to come to negotiating table to find a way out of the situation. Adamant attitude on part of the farmers is in no way going to benefit them. The Government on its part must try its best to assure the community of the benefits of the Agriculture Bills that were passed recently by Parliament. The apprehension that have cropped up in the minds of the farming community must be removed at the earliest.
