KATHUA, Nov 12: Farmers held protest against the Cooperative Marketing Society for not issuing fertilizers.
A large number of farmers assembled outside the office of Cooperative Marketing Society and held protest. Amid slogans against the management of the Society, the farmers demanded release of fertilizers.
“The society is not opening its store to provide fertilizers to us. Wheat crop sowing time is going on and the management of the Society is making excuse of non-availability of fertilizers”, the protesting farmers said.
“The store was opened and fertilizers were found inside it”, the protesting farmers said, adding that only one bag of fertilizer is being given to a farmer on Aadhar Card, which is injustice with us.
“Our requirement is of about ten to twenty bags of fertilizer per farmer and providing one bag is complete injustice with us”, the farmers said and appealed to the Government to issue sufficient quantity of fertilizers.
Among others present were Ajay Kumar, Kartar Chand, Gopal Chand, Tirth Singh, Krishan Singh, etc.
