Family members gathered at Partap Park, Press Enclave to protest against failure on part of Police to trace Riyaz Ahmad, who had been missing for the past 20 days from his in-laws home in Srinagar’s Elahi Bagh area.
They have asked the police and other relevant organizations to locate the missing trader because his family and relatives are concerned. They said he had been living with his in-laws for the past four years and had only gone missing from there. “Last week, we learned about it from the police,” Firodus Ahmad, the missing person’s brother, said.
The protestors believe their son was murdered because there was a property dispute in their home. “We have heard there was some fighting in the family and suspect he was killed during the fight,” he said.
The family asked the police and the administration to assist them in locating their Riyaz.
