Family of PDD’s daily wager holds protest, projects demands

JAMMU, June 24: Family members of daily wager of Power Development Department (PDD) held protest in Karan Bagh Chowk area, here today.
Family members accompanied by the people held protest in Karan Bagh chowk area. The protestors along with the body of the deceased sat on road and raised slogans in favour of their demands. They also blocked the vehicular movement.
The protestors were demanding adequate compensation and job to the son of the deceased.
After getting information, police team along with officials of PDD and Civil Administration rushed to the spot and assured to redress their demands as soon as possible.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
It is pertinent to mention here that daily wager of Power Development Department (PDD) identified as Bodh Raj (45), son of Sansar Singh, a resident of Khandwal, District Jammu and got electrocuted while repairing a transformer.
After conducting post-mortem at GMCH Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Chatha Police has already taken cognizance in this regard.
