Srinagar, Feb 4: Family members of an expectant mother today alleged that she was mistreated by a doctor at District Hospital Baramulla in north Kashmir.
The family members said that the mistreatment forced them to move their patient to a private clinic for delivery. “Doctors there tore our prescription and asked us to get out of the hospital,” Muzamal Hassan, husband of the victim said.
Divulging details, he said they admitted the patient in the hospital on Monday after she felt intense pain in her abdomen. “The doctors told us that her delivery dates are due and admitted her for surgery,” he said. He added that he was forced to conduct tests outside as the diagnostic lab was closed in the evening.
Next morning, the family said, a doctor tore their test reports and admit card asking them to come after a week, “even if delivery dates were not due. Why did she tear our prescription and admit card,” her husband asked.
