SRINAGAR, Feb 20: A 56-year old woman in Anantnag died allegedly due to negligence on the part of doctors today.
The victim’s death led to protest by the family members.
She had to undergo surgery for her leg injury which she suffered last week. “Fifteen minutes back she was in good health. Something happened in the operation theatre. They killed her,” said one of the family members.”
Family members alleged that seven days back they came to the hospital but were sent back by the doctors. “They have been delaying the surgery for the last one week,” a family member said.
He added that the doctors asked them to visit a private clinic for surgery which they declined. “Today we came to the hospital for surgery where doctors’ behavior was inappropriate,” a family member said.
Meanwhile, Principal of the Medical College Anantnag, Showkat Jeelani, said he would inquire into the matter. “We will look into the matter and act strictly if anyone is found guilty,” he said.
