JAMMU, May 30:  In the case of fake Permanent Resident Certificate by a Lt Col and managing registration of plot at Sainik Colony, the Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan against the accused Army officer.
The challan in case FIR number 23/2011, under Section 420,465,467,468,471, 120-B, 201 RPC at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu against the accused Lt Col (Retd) Rajeshwar Singh Pathania of Kangra Himachal Pradesh, at present House No. 80-B Sainik Colony Jammu and Chander Udhay Singh of Dogra Hall Jammu (expired) was presented before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu.
The case was registered on a written complaint by one S S Jamwal alleging that Lt Col Rajeshwar Singh in connivance with his sister-in-law Usha Khosla wife of Lt Jagatjeet Singh Khosla of Sainik Colony Jammu had fraudulently obtained fake PRC in his favour vide file number 840, dated Feb 20, 1960, issued by then Tehsildar Nowshera and on the basis of this fake PRC, the accused Army officer managed to get Plot No. 80-B at Sainik Colony Jammu in his name. The complaint further alleged that Usha Khosla managed to obtain fake PRC in favour of Rajeshwar Singh through her father later Chander Udhay Singh, who was Tehsildar Nowshera in year 1960.
During the course of investigation, the Crime Branch established that Rajeshwar Singh Pathania was originally a resident of village Jachh, Post Basa Waziran via Jasur, district Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and he had managed PRC in connivance with his father-in-law Chander Udhay Singh. Noticing the Crime Branch investigation, the Lt Col destroyed his PRC document but registration of a plot on his name in the court of Sub-Registrar Municipal Magistrate Jammu on 18-04-2002 clearly established that he was in possession of that fake PRC at the time of allotment of this plot.
