Fake job racket busted in Sumbal; 3 held

Srinagar, Mar 18: Police in Bandipora today busted a fake job racket in the Sumbal area while arresting three accused persons.
Bandipora police said that it received specific information that innocent youths are being misguided and duped by a group of people on the pretext of providing jobs in various Government Departments.
“On this information, a case FIR No. 23/2021 under relevant Sections of law was registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation was initiated,” police said.
Taking cognizance of the case a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted on the directions of SSP Bandipora Sh Rahul Malik-IPS comprising of DySP PC Hajin, DO PP Ajas and officers of PS Hajin and PP Ajas.
The team, police said, acted swiftly and arrested three accused persons identified as Irfan Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Ashraf Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Pandit son of Gh Mohiuddin Pandit both residents of SK Bala and Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Gh Nabi Dar resident of Asham.
Preliminary investigation, police said, revealed that the group was involved in luring innocent youth to pay money in lieu of providing them jobs in different Government Departments.
“Original sets of testimonials and some admit cards of gullible youths, whom the group was trying to dupe, have been recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case is going on,” police said.
