RAMBAN, Nov 14: Banihal police busted a fake job racket with the arrest of two fraudsters.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anita Sharma, busted fake job racket with the arrest of two fraudsters. Fake appointment orders and other forged documents were recovered from the fraudsters, who on the pretext of providing job in Army (TA) and have duped lakhs of rupees from many persons hailing from Bishnah, Kupwara, Banihal, Ramban, Samba, etc.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Qasim, son of Chiddi Mohammad of Kangan District Ganderbal and Ashiq Yousuf, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Lar District Ganderbal.
SSP informed that one person namely Bilal Ahmad, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Ashar Banihal lodged a written complaint in Police Station Banihal that a person identified as Mohammad Qasim, son of Chiddi Mohammad of Kangan District Ganderbal has duped him and his friends of Rs 1.5 lakh on the pretext of providing job in Indian Army (TA) by providing fake joining orders.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 137/19 under section 420, 465 and 468 IPC was registered in Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
“A police team was constituted which immediately swung into action and arrested the main fraudster namely Mohammad Qasim alongwith his associate Ashiq Yousuf. The team also recovered fake appointment order copies and joining letters of 161 CO TA Indian Army from their possessions”, SSP Anita Sharma informed.
During sustained questioning both the accused persons revealed that on pretext of providing jobs in army (TA) they have duped lakhs of rupees from many persons from Bishnah, Kupwara, Banihal, Ramban, Samba etc, SSP said, adding that the accused persons were further being questioned to ascertain the modus operandi of the crime and other aspects related to the case.
The investigation of the case is still in progress, SSP Anita Sharma said.
