Sir,
The State of J and K especially Kashmir valley is in the grip of RET fake certificate issue these days. RET teachers who have acquired these degrees from dubious institutions need to be checked at any cost to save the education system from such a menace.
It is very encouraging that the academicians, intellectuals and civil society are supporting the Govt move for streamlining the education system in the State. It is a matter of great satisfaction that after sensing the mood of general public even the RET organisations have now welcomed the Govt move of verifying fake certificates and screening test of doubtful candidates.
As a matter of fact, this process should not apply only for RET teachers but other teachers also in Higher Education (College level) as well.
As is known to all that during militancy in nineties when the militants were ruling the roost in J and K especially in the Valley, there was a mad rush of obtaining fake (illegal) certificates from the study centres in the valley and unrecognised universities and institutions outside the State in order to get Govt jobs. It is not only Education Departmnt where fake certificates have wreaked havoc but the rot is deeper than it appears to be. Let us hope and pray that fake certificate issue is probed sincerely and honestly to do justice with the unemployed youth with real degrees.
Yours etc…
