JAMMU, Nov 15: A Faculty Development Programme was organized at IECS Polytechnic, Purkhoo Camp, Domana in which eminent personalities from industrial and educational sector participated and shared their views and experiences with the faculty working in the institution.
Prof  K G  Gupta, Principal, IECS Polytechnic, in his welcome address,  impressed upon the staff to keep on enhancing their knowledge in accordance with new expanding horizons of science and technology.
Er Annil Suri, an eminent industrialist and son of the soil, spoke on the topic “Importance of Industry-Institute Interaction in Engineering Education”. In his view, exposure of students to actual industrial practices was essential for successful career in engineering.
Prof S K Gupta, Dean Academics, Institute of Management Sciences IMS, Jammu and former Dean, Baba Ghulam Badshah University, Rajouri, spoke on the topic “Management is the way of life”. He assured that one cannot succeed in any field or profession without proper management skills.
Manish Pathania, Director, Care Institute, Jammu, deliberated on the “Importance of Communication Skills for Teachers”. Excellent communication skills are essential for the teacher to convey their ideas to the students.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr  Manju Diwvedi, Principal National College of Education, Other prominent persons present in the programme,  included Er  Ajay Singh Jamwal, Dean Administration, IECS,  Sonika Koul, Coordinator, IECS, HoD’s of different departments Er  G B  Singh, Er  H N  Bhat,  Er  Amit Sharma, Er  Vijay Singh and Prof  Anil Warikoo.
