Eye patients operated free of cost at Rotary Hospital

UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: 2nd batch of poor patients was operated free of cost at Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur. This free eye surgical camp, started on  March 5, has been organized by Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur in collaboration with District Blindness Control Society and Rotary Club Udhampur.
21 patients were operated free of cost on March 12, 2016 by Dr Ankur Goel, Phaco & Vitreoretinal Surgeon of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur. The patients who were operated today, will be discharged on March 13, 2016. Dr Ankur Goel expressed the need for prevention of avoidable blindness in the service area.
The chairman of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur, Rtn D  N  Sharma assured the DBCS to organize such more camps in rural area of Udhampur district till the whole of the district becomes avoidable blindness free.
The next batch of the patients, which  has already been screened,  will be operated on 24th to 26th March 2016.
