REASI, Oct 1: Arnas Police foiled extortion attempt with the arrest of five persons along with air pistol and two sharp edged weapons.
This was stated by SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging the details, SDPO informed that during the intervening night of September 29 and 30 this year, around 8 persons entered into the premises of Capcon Construction Company office premises with air pistol and two sharp edged weapons.
“They put the pistol on the forehead of General Manager Capcon Construction Company Amarjeet Singh and demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from him. Somehow GM succeeded to persuade them that he had no cash with him and would arrange in the morning”, SDPO said, adding that the Manager informed Police Station Arnas about the incident.
Acting swiftly and using technical intelligence, a team from Police Station Arnas arrested 5 accused, who were identified as Riyaz Ahmed alias Kaka, son of Abdul Rashid of Taddu, Aryan Sharma alias Kaka, son of Ravinder Kumar of Arnas, Sonu, son of Kartar Chand, Kuldeep Kumar, son of Kartar Chand of Narloo and Sanjay Kumar, son of Lal Singh of Narloo.
SDPO informed that the main master mind identified as Dinesh Kumar alias Dhanu, son of Ashok Kumar of Chinkah along with two others namely Vijay, son of Lal Chand and Ajay, son of Subash of Hunder and Raju, son of Lal Singh of Reasi are absconding.
“Police also recovered one air pistol and 2 sharp edged weapons from the possession of the arrested persons”, SDPO said.
A case under FIR Number 85/2020 under Sections 385, 458, 147 and 148 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Arnas Police Station and hunt is going on to nab the absconders.
Police team led by SHO Arnas Inspector Rajesh Gautam made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj, Additional SP Reasi Surjeet Bhagat and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
