Extension lecture on ‘Soil Management for Future Health’ held

RAJOURI, Dec 16: Government Post Graduate College organized an extension lecture on the subject “Soil Management for Future Health”.
Dr Vikas Tandon from KVK SKUAST District Rajouri explained in detail the importance of soil and its conservation. He elaborated the importance of different micro and macro nutrients and laid stress on the fact that we have to think beyond NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) and un-lock the secrets of soil for better future.
Principal of the College Professor Shabir Hussain Shah, who presided over the function, in his address impressed upon the student community to transmit the message to the rest of the society regarding place of soil, its conservation and judicious use of fertilizers for a sustainable agriculture.
The entire proceedings were carried on with the help of Power Point Presentation.
Among others present were Dr Vishal from KVK, Dr Shamim Ahmed Azad, HoD Botany, Dr Umar, Prof Manzoor Ahmed Dar, besides other faculty members of the college and students.
