Explore, protect tourism potential of Rajouri: Zulfikar

RAJOURI, July 31: Vice-president of Apni Party Choudhary Zulfikar Ali has stressed on the Government to explore and protect tourism potential of the district.
Addressing a public meeting in Budhal, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali said that Rajouri has tourism potential but it requires promotion and protection of the tourism sites which will generate revenue as well as employment opportunities.
He said that the Government should explore and protect the tourism potential in Rajouri in order to improve the economic condition of the area. “The area is beautiful in comparison to other tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
The Apni Party leader demanded development of Anas River as a tourist spot. He pitched for the promotion of eco-tourism and an amusement park. He also demanded start of work on Budhal-Shopian Road and tehsil status for Budhal.
Besides, he demanded release of pending payments of MGNREGA, employment package for the unemployed youth, improvement of health care system and harness of the power protection of the Anas. He also demanded holding of early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, the people highlighted various issues being faced by them. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion include Shamim Akhtar (BDC Chairperson, Budhal), Mohd Yousaf (Sarpanch), Laqyat Ali (Sarpanch), Gafoor Bhat (Sarpanch) and Mohd Riaz (Sarpanch).
Apni Party district vice president Mohd Iqbal Kokhar, Munshi Alam Din (zone president), Munshi Khan (block president), Aziz Wani, Abdul Majid, Shabir Ahmed, Mohd Iqbal Thakur, Ch Mohd Iqbal, Thakur Surjit Singh (vice president Youth), Arif Rather (provincial secretary, Youth) and Mukhtar Ahmed (coordinator, Youth) were also present.
