JAMMU Sept 22: Former Minister Gulchain Singh Charak alongwith office bearers and other prominent leaders of Block Congress Committee, Bishnah attended series of meetings including at village Sultanpur and village Bandrali .
Speaking on the occasion almost all the speakers highlighted the problems being faced by the people residing in the area – regarding irrigation, electricity, lanes, drains and agriculture etc. and requested Charak for their early redressal.
Mr Charak while addressing the meetings said that keeping in view the conditions of School buildings, Panchyat Ghars, lanes, drains, approach-roads,  besides, the damage caused to the other places during the heavy rains and flash floods urged upon the Government to take some short-term and long term measures in a planned manner so that people are able to carry out their day to day activities and also demanded that due compensation and other relief be paid to the affected families.
Prominent persons of these villages including Rattan Lal & Girdhari Lal also raised the issue of their villages which being quite near to Samba have been brought under the jurisdiction of district Jammu instead of district Samba which is a sheer injustice to the public of these areas, as they will have to compete with the youths of the Jammu district of which the maximum area falls in the urban belt including the winter capital of the State and demanded these villages be brought under the jurisdiction of district Samba.
As the electricity system has totally been collapsed, the concerned authorities should take immediate necessary steps to provide the electricity in proper way, they added.
