Sir,
My deep concern over the painfully slow progress in the delineation of state-owned land entrusted to the Jammu Development Authority (JDA). Despite repeated directives from the High Court, the collaboration between JDA and the Revenue Department has been marked by a glaring lack of efficiency. Approximately 10,000 kanals of land in Jammu and Samba districts remain undelineated, posing a significant threat of encroachment.
The consequences of this delay are dire, as Jammu’s population has grown exponentially while infrastructure development stagnates, leading to the proliferation of unauthorized private colonies. This situation demands urgent attention to safeguard the integrity of JDA land.
It’s imperative that the Department of Housing and Urban Development takes proactive steps to resolve this issue, eliminating the entrenched bottlenecks hindering progress. In today’s digital age, there’s no excuse for such non-cooperation between government departments. It’s time to end this cycle of inaction and ensure JDA can fulfill its mission for the region’s development.
