This refer to S. Narinder Singh’s article “Why delay in Government formation” published in this paper on 31st Jan. The author is quite right where he says that BJP MLAs are unduly and unnecessarily taking credit for construction of a few drains and lanes in some pockets of their respective constituencies. “They always believed in cheap publicity by projecting themselves garlanded for routine works being done by JMC and PWD etc. Writes the writer. Gandhi Nagar Jammu being a prestigious constituency has entirely been ignored for last more than one year. At Channi Himmat one has hardly seen the concerned MLA.
The blacktopping of roads of Sector 3 of Channi Himmat plus the road in front of Railway Phatak from Sec 3 to Sec 1 along both sides of a newly constructed Nullah by ERA was promised by current MLA in May 2015 where a deputation of residents of the area met him in his office at Trikuta Nagar, but so far nothing has been done. To add salt to the injuries of residents, officials of ERA have dumped extracted material like clay, stones and other debris near a place called 12 Nalka in Sec 3. This besides giving an ugly look is also a nuisance as no cleaning can be done in the area with brooms by Jammu Municipality as a result of which there is an apprehension for spread of an epidemic.
Now when there is a Governor’s rule in J&K, we request the concerned authorities to come to the rescue of the residents of Sec 3, Channi Himmat Housing Colony.
