LADAKH, Mar 28: A 10-day excursion tour to the National Capital, New Delhi, for the children belonging to Chushul, a small village of Western Ladakh bordering with China, was flagged in by Army in the presence of local populace.
The tour under Army’s ‘Operation Sadhbavna’ was flagged off by Brigadier Sanjiv Rai, Commander Tangtse Brigade on March 16. Complimentary sets of formal clothing and track suits had been presented to all participants before the tour was flagged off.
The tour was organised for the children between 14 to 16 years age, who visited Qutub Minar, India Gate, Red Fort and Akshardham Temple during the tour. Later the tour visited Gaya where they were taken to Great Budha Statue, Mahabodhi Temple, Officers Training Academy Gaya and Bodh Gaya.
Speaking on the occasion the Commander lauded Chushul Battalion for its efforts to provide various welfare schemes to all and expressed his appreciation on the overwhelming response from the students who proceeded on the tour.
