SRINAGAR, July 9: Excise and Taxation Sub Inspector Javid Ahmad Shah, who was booked by the Vigilance Organization for alleged possession of disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income, is also an accused of managing Government job through fraudulent means.
A departmental enquiry in this regard has also been initiated against him, said Commissioner Excise T Angchok.  The Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) had raided the accused Sub Inspector’s residence and five other places, including his office at Lower Munda two days back.
The accused got the Government job in the year 2006 under SRO-43, which was challenged in the court of law by none other than the sister of the person who supposedly adopted him. It is alleged that Javid got his appointment claiming that he was adopted by  Late Muhammad Aslam Shah, son of Ghulam Hussian Shah, a resident of village Tukroo in Bhavnad area of Shopian district. If Javid is to be believed, Aslam who died at the age of 30, adopted him in the year 1976, the year when he (Javed) was born.
As reported earlier, a case under FIR No 32/2015 under Section 5(1)  read with  5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt  2006 was registered against the said Sub Inspector for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The case was registered after verifications revealed that the official by abuse of his official position indulged in corrupt practices and accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. After obtaining search warrant from the Court,  simultaneous searches were conducted at five different places,  including the residential, official and business premises of accused official and the residential houses of his relatives at Shopian, Pulwama and Qazigund.
During the course of search, incriminating documents were seized which are being scrutinized. Investigation of the case is in progress.
