JAMMU, June 26: Government today extended the applicability of Jammu and Kashmir Excise Policy 2019-2020 till August 31.
The Excise Policy 2019-2020, which was notified vide SRO 128 dated February 25, 2019, was applicable till March 31, 2020. In the notification, it was mentioned that Government may revisit and revise the same at any point during the course of the year if the emergent situation warrants so.
Keeping in view the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the Government working also, the Finance Department vide order dated March 27, 2020 had extended the applicability of the Excise Policy till June 30, 2020.
Now, the same has further been extended till August 31, 2020 as exercise for preparation of new Excise Policy is yet to be concluded.
