JAMMU, Feb 12: Excise Commissioner, Tsering Angchuk convened revenue review meeting of various officers of Excise and Taxation Department here today.
The over-all growth scenario of the revenue receipts of the Department for the month of January and total revenue realized till the month of January for the financial year 2015-16 was discussed threadbare and examined critically. It was noticed in the meeting that the revenue realization of the Department is going in an upward direction viz-a-viz revenue targets fixed for the Department for the financial year 2015-16.
It was informed in that meeting that total revenue realized by the Excise Department during the month of January 2015-16 has been to the tune of Rs. 94.86 crore in comparison to the Rs 82.96 crore realized during January, 2014-15. Upto the month of January, 2015-16, the department has realized an amount of Rs. 962.18 crore as against Rs. 831.37 crore upto the month of January, 2014-15.
The Excise Commissioner appreciated the efforts made by the field functionaries for maintaining the consistent growth of fifteen percent in revenue realisation. At Toll post Lakhanpur there has been an increase of 17.81 percent in revenue realisation during the month of January 2016 and 16.17 percent upto the period 31st January 2016 as compared to the corresponding period of previous year.
