KISHTWAR, Nov 8: A Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Army organised an ex-servicemen rally here today.
Commander of 9 R R Sector, Brig Hitesh Kohli inaugurated the rally in presence of DC Kishtwar Saleem Mohd Choudhary, SSP Bhim Sen Tutti and senior Army officers. It was attended by a large number of ex-servicemen, war widows, locals and the officers from the administration besides some political activists of the area.
The main highlights of the rally were a martial arts show from south India displayed by Madras Regiment, dog show, pipe band display and other games. The aim of this rally was to interact with the ex-servicemen, listen their grievances and render solution. Army officers educated them about various welfare schemes ment for ex-servicemen, war widows and their children. The CSD canteen facilities were also provided on the spot. On this occasion, some war widows were also honoured by the Commander.
