Ex-Policemen League offers to help firing victims

JAMMU, Mar 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Policemen League, district Jammu, today said the police chief should review the welfare of the families of erstwhile martyrs also personally and through the jurisdictional officers periodically.
The retired police personnel who have sizeable numbers in every nook and corner of the State being the part of civil society, volunteered to extend co-operation to the police and the administration in reaching to the victims of cross-border firing in the hour of need. They resolved to constitute the subsidiary task force to strengthen the law and order, maintain communal harmony and peace in the composite social circles.
The participants exuded full confidence in the valour of gallant soldiers to combat the terrorism. The members favored the view that the important buildings and barracks should be named after the martyrs to inspire that their services will be remembered and glorified in the future.
The inaugural address was made by the president of the league Sawtanter Arora. The members, who spoke and present on the occasion included Chirag Din, P.R. Sharma, Hari Chand, Mela Ram, Gulzar Ahmed, V.P Gupta, R.K.Bali, Veerinder Bhasin, Mohinder singh, Narinder Abrol, Joginder Singh, Vijay Khajuria, Krishan Singh Sambyal, Shamsher Bhagat, K.P.Singh Dhian singh, Ved Bali, Mumtaj Khan, Purshotam Bali, Kehar Singh and Onkar and others.
