JAMMU, May 9: A meeting of Ex-policemen League, district Jammu held here under its president DySP (Retd) K S Sambyal deliberated upon various issues pertaining to welfare of retired policemen.
Speakers expressed that some of the retirees were in the grip of serious ailments needing early treatment which they cannot afford and desired that their parent department should come for help and in this regard decided to approach GDP and IGP Jammu Zone to solve the problem of the retirees.
They demanded verification of pay anomalies in the pay scale of Non-Gazetted Officers and issuance of suitable orders accordingly. The members of the league also demanded immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of State employees and pensioners.
The League members condoled the killing of five policemen by militants in Srinagar and also expressed condolence over the death of two Army Jawans who were killed and beheaded by Pak army.
Others who participated in the meeting were SSP Ch Chirag Din (retd), R P Sharma, V P Gupta, Som Raj Duta, RK Bali (general secretary), M L Mathur, K L Tandon ( all retired SPs), DySPs Yoginder Singh Jamwal, Ch Mohd Saleem, Ch Balwant Rai, Varinder Bhasin and Gulab Singh, Brahm Dutt, Dhian Singh, S KP Singh, Ved Raj Bali, Shamsher Bhagat, Subash Singh Slathia and Charanjit Singh, all retired Inspectors and Sun-Inspectors.
