Ex-paramilitary personnel highlight demands

JAMMU, July 25: The Ex-Central Paramilitary Force Welfare/Rehabilitation Association today highlighted various demands of the Ex-paramilitary forces like ‘One Rank One Pension’.
Addressing a meeting of the association here today, RL Dogra, president of the association, said that the present BJP Government at the Centre should fulfill all the promises and commitment made with the Ex-paramilitary personnel during their election campaign.
“Our ‘wait and watch’ policy is still under way until 7th Pay Commission report is declared publically”, he said adding that they are confident that the present regime is keen and interested to address their problems honestly and judiciously. He further stressed upon the Government to frame a concrete and comprehensive policy for paramilitary forces.
Dogra said that 60% of defence forces people don’t have any combat role but even then, they are getting all financial benefits at par with their other colleagues whereas paramilitary forces are round the clock engaged in combat duty across the country but still they have been deprived of their rights.
He also reiterated their old pending demands like ‘One Rank One Pension’, ECHS medical facility instead of CGHS, EX-Servicemen status, enhancement of medical allowance up to Rs 3000, paramilitary special pay, reservation for their wards in Government jobs, establishment of district wise Welfare and Rehabilitation Board, etc.
VPS Panwar, Ex-IG, who was the special invitee from the National Coordination Committee (NCC), New Delhi, informed the participants that political and bureaucratic set up in New Delhi is well in contact with the NCC and are well acquainted with the demands and problems of paramilitary forces.
He said that a delegation of NCC had also met Home Minister and other dignitaries of the ministry who had assured that the interest and causes of paramilitary forces have been added generously in 7th Pay Commission report, which is expected to come out publically very soon.
