LEH, Apr 20: Former Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (JTN) today led a delegation of PDC employees to meet the Chief Secretary of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra to seek urgent intervention on the apportionment of 475 sanctioned posts for the Ladakh Power Corporation Limited (LPCL) and the long-pending issue of staff promotions.
During the meeting, the delegation submitted a detailed representation and highlighted key concerns. It was pointed out that while 475 posts for LPCL were formally sanctioned vide JKPDD Order No. 56-JK(PDD) of 2023 dated 02.05.2023, these posts are yet to be apportioned to the Union Territory of Ladakh. This delay has adversely impacted career progression of employees and has stalled fresh recruitment, thereby, affecting the overall efficiency and functioning of the department.
Namgyal emphasized the need for a rational and equitable apportionment of posts along with employees to ensure optimal utilization of human resources and strengthen administrative efficiency. He also underlined that timely action would address stagnation in promotions and boost morale of the workforce.
The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the matter would be taken up on priority. He further assured that necessary steps would be initiated for filling up of these 475 posts in accordance with the notified order, and the issue of delayed promotions would also be addressed at the earliest.
The delegation comprised Tashi Gyalpo (AEE), Tashi Tsephel (AE), Tsewang Tamchos (JE), Tsewang Gyalson (JE), Mohd Iqbal (Head Assistant), Tsewang Raftan (Work Supervisor), Sofia Rasool (JE–Contract) and Konchok Dorjay.
