JAMMU, Apr 28: Chief spokesperson J&K PCC Ravinder Sharma (Ex-MLC) asked the authorities to assess the loss suffered by the farmers and cocoon reerers in the resent unseasonal rains and hail storm.
Mr Sharma conducted two days tour of Nowshera and Sunderbani and took stock of the loss suffered by the farmers of the area. He said that the wheat  and vegetable crops have been completely damaged due to un-seasonal rains and hailstorm. The Cocoon reerers has also suffered loss, as the silk worms have died prematurely.  But it was unfortunate that no assessment has been done and the Govt. has failed to announce relief package.  There is great resentment amongst the people over the indifferent attitude of the Govt. and the authorities, so far.
Ex-MLC demanded that loss suffered by the farmers and cocoon reerers should be assessed and Govt. should announce relief package immediately. Besides  adequate financial assistance for  the purchase of seed and fertilizers  for the next crops and  free ration for six months should be provided to the farmers  without further loss of time.
