Ex-MLC asks PDP workers to popularize welfare schemes

JAMMU, Jan 2: Exhorting party workers to popularize welfare schemes of the Coalition Government among the common masses, PDP general secretary Ved Mahajan ( Ex-MLC) today said that during the last 10 months, Mufti Sayeed led regime has announced a number of welfare measures.
Addressing workers of District Committee of PDP for Jammu urban here today, Mr Mahajan said there was urgent need to educate the masses about these welfare schemes so that benefit of such measures should be reaped by those for whom these schemes are especially formulated.
He said the PDP led Coalition Government is committed to restore historical importance of Jammu city and party has already announced to develop Jammu as heritage city. Drawing attention of the workers towards Chief Minister’s recent tour in the Jammu city during which the CM had inspected pace of on-going developmental work in Jammu city, the Ex-MLC said that Mufti Sayeed is committed to develop Jammu as independent tourist destination.
The PDP leader further said that in 2016, State Government under the leadership of Mufti Sayeed will complete a number of beautification projects in Jammu to attract tourists in city. He said that Chief Minister is personally monitoring progress of developmental and beautification projects being executed in Jammu city.
Calling upon party workers to prepare themselves for the coming Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) elections, Ved Mahajan said that Coalition Government has decided to strengthen democratic institutions be it ULBs or Panchayats to trickle down decision making powers at grass-root level.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasions included former MLA Rafiq Hussain Khan, Ex-MP T S Bajwa, senior leaders Dhaman Bhasin, Fallail Singh, vice chairman of SC Advisory Board- Bhushan Dogra, Ashok Jogi, Ch Gharu Ram (Ex-MOS), Amrik Singh Reen, SS Charak, Suresh Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Capt Anil Gour and Surjeet Kour.
