EU delegation calls on Speaker, MLAs

SRINAGAR, Sept 24:  The delegation of the European Union today called on Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul.
Detailed discussion was held on Parliamentary Affairs of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Gul appraised the delegation about the Business to be transacted during the ensuing session commencing from September 30. He informed that 474 questions, 7 Private Members Bills, 33 Private Members Resolutions have been received for the ensuing session.
He also briefed the delegation about the rare treasure of Library Books housed in the Library complex of the Assembly and apprised them that at present 54000 rare books on law, rules besides constitution and history are kept in the Library complexes at Jammu and Srinagar Assembly Secretariats.
Later, the delegation also went round the Legislature Complex including the House besides witnessed other facilities.
Secretary Legislative Asse-mbly M. Ramzan and other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat were present on the occasion.
The EU delegation also met Legislative Assembly members and discussed various issues pertaining to the state.
The legislators which include Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, Abdul Gani Malik, Nasir Aslam Wani, Durga Dass, Charanjeet Singh, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Er. Abdul Rashid and Rafi Ahmad Mir exchanged their views on diverse issues of mutual interest and the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir with the visiting EU delegation.
