Estates employees to observe strike from tomorrow

JAMMU, Aug 2: Irate over the delaying tactics adopted by the administration of Estates Department in settling the burning issues of Estate employees, Co-ordination Committee of Estate Employees, Jammu today decided that there will be complete strike in the Estates Department from August 4, 2014.
The decision was taken in the executive committee meeting of the Co-ordination Committee, which was organized to discuss the agreement reached between the members of Committee and administration of Estates Department.
Observing that administration of Estates Department is not serious towards the demands of the employees, the members unanimously decided that complete strike will be observed in all the offices of the Estates Department with effect from August 4, 2014.
The demands of the Estates Department employees are reorganization of Estates Department, regularization of daily rated workers, release of wages of casual workers, timely release of promotion orders and arrears, holding of DPC, provision of two and a half day additional pay, issuance of appointment orders under SRO 43, etc.
