JAMMU, Aug 18: All J&K Estates Employees Association (Jammu province) has urged upon the higher authorities to regularize all type of temporary/ daily rated employees and conduct DPC of all categories in the State.
In a general body meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Prem Singh Bawa, president of the Association, the members discussed various issues of the employees. They pointed out that on July 14, 2017 a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister but no action has been observed with regard to their demands so far.
They said that only two weeks time has been given by the Association to the Government, failing which the Estates employees would intensify their agitation. Prem Singh alleged that DPC has been conducted in Srinagar and many workers have been accommodated there but it has not been conducted in Jammu, causing discrimination with the employees here.
He also demanded regularization of daily wagers, re-organisation of the department, additional pay of two and half days in favour of field staff, issuance of time bound promotion orders, settlement of SRO 43 cases, shifting of Dy Director Estates office in Govt accommodation, enhancement of daily wage rate to Rs 500 per day and release of tools, uniforms and construction/ repair of staff quarters.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Tilak Raj, Puran Chand, Mohinder Lal, Sagar Massih, Dharam Pal Gupta, Kuldeep Raj, Mulakh Raj, Balwinder and others.
