NEW DELHI, Aug 29: Essar Energy today announced the appointment of Sushil Maroo as chief executive officer and a director of Essar Energy.
The appointment is effective from September 16.
The current chief executive officer Naresh Nayyar will be appointed as a member of the Essar Corporate Centre, an oversight advisory committee. The company said in a statement.
Both roles will be based in Mumbai.
Mr Maroo was deputy managing director and a board director of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd.
He was also deputy managing director of Jindal Power Ltd since 2008, it said.
He joined Jindal Steel and Power Ltd in 2001 and played a critical role in the group’s financial planning and strategic growth, the statement said.
