Storyline of Nukkad is related to the dangerous and worst possible evil prevailing in our society that is corruption.
What are the repercussions of this evil is highlighted in this Nukkad. Corruption is perfectly made in-roads in our roots and everyone is suffering from it. Ganesh Dass is a retired person but unfortunately he has lost his mental balance and is wandering with one line dialogue “Mera Kaam Kab Hoga” (When will my job be done) and he asks this to everyone including his wife. In the process he forgets to do any job assigned to him.
He says that he would wait till all the people will get justice and goes on repeating Mera Kaam Kab Hoga.
While he his wandering his wife who is searching for him asks him to come back to home. He asks her Mara Kaam Ho Gaya. Yes comes the reply and he whispers in the ears of people around “Mera Kaam Ho Gaya”.
Old man’s wife requests him but he asks her again and again Mera kaam ho gaya ? Now people around understand that he has lost his mental balance and ask his wife about the reason. She explains that after serving for so many years his pension was delayed for certain reasons. He used to visit daily for pension. Finally he lost his mental balance. Since then he is repeating Mera Kaam Ho Gaya. This lady advises the people that such cases are common in our society and we must stop this practice of corruption otherwise it can be fatal. This Nukkad is an eye opener for those who tolerate this evil of corruption and donot raise their voice against it. Our elders should not be humiliated at any cost by the system which is brings bad name in the society.
