Sir,
The Government has turned a blind eye to the issues of power cuts and water crisis in the city of temples. Electricity is perhaps the second most talked about issue in the Jammu and Kashmir state. Uneven and unscheduled power cuts have become a daily routine in our city and no one listens to the woes of the general public in this perspective. Our city is facing the worst ever Power crisis these days and the Power Development Department on the other hand is least bothered by this issue of crippling and acute power cuts. In the villages not too far from the city, the situation is worsening and deteriorating day by day. The life is totally out of gear during these days of hot summers as the demand for electricity is always high. Apart from power cuts, most areas like Talab Tillo, Bohri, Gole Gujral etc are facing heavy voltage fluctuations due to which the reports of damage to electronic gadgets like TV, Refrigerators and air conditioners are also on the rise. There is a whole gamut of challenging areas in the power sector that our city needs to address on priority in order to meet its growth targets. Impediments and prolonged delays in the power projects currently running in our state is one of the reasons behind this power shortage. The government needs to introspect in this matter as early as possible and should come up with a more pragmatic solution in this regard.
Yours etc..
