Sir,
Though unimaginable, and very difficult to root out such an evil stands directly linked with heart and soul. Though variation is the law of nature, all human beings, more or less, are obsessed with the element of greed. Only laws and morality, can to some extent, prevent one from such evil. If stern laws are implemented sternly and morality and ethics are cultivated, unsurprisingly, the graph of corruption can be adequately reduced. It is fantastically true that on whom the onus of eliminating this menance lies, are themselves neck deep in this mud. Those who are already rich and educated are more prone to this evil. Obviously, going for corruption is not a need but greed which is highly unbecoming of a good man. The present state of despondency, hopelessness that prevails every where is due to prevalance of corruption, favouritism, nepotism and regionalism. Greasing the palms of officials is a routine matter-otherwise even genuine tasks, remains hanging for ever. Disappearance of fear of God and that of the law tempts even saints for this bad practice. Corruption weakens the nation and spreads dissatisfaction among the masses. It is epedemic in nature, and therefore, has dangerous repercussions if not controlled and curbed effectively.
