JAMMU, Sept 9: The Government has taken various new initiatives for overall development of state and thrust is being laid on providing better amenities to the people at their doorsteps, this was stated by Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary after inaugurating developmental works at Chandu Chak in RS Pura, constructed at the cost of Rs 5 lakh under MPLADS 2015-16.
Member of Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma was also present on the occasion.
The Minister said that Government is laying focused attention on equitable development of all regions and especially the rural areas.
A large number of people hailing from all sections of the society apprised the Minister about the problems and demands related to power and water supply, telecom services, augmenting education, healthcare and road connectivity.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the projected demands and assured that these demands will be fulfilled in phased manner.
The Minister appealed the masses to take optimum benefit of various state and Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented for their social economic development
Meanwhile, the Minister also inaugurated a BSNL tower at village Satraiyan, where he said that steps will be taken to provide better telecom connectivity in all parts of the state.
Earlier, a deputation of Draftsmen also called on the Minister to discuss their issues related to seniority list, holding of DPC and filling of vacant posts. The Minister assured them that their genuine issues would be looked into.
A deputation of residents of Bathindi under the leadership Ch. Vikram Randhawa also called on the Minister to apprise him about the problem of irregular water supply in the area. Responding to the demand, the Minister said that steps will be taken to redress the issue.
