JAMMU, May 1: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office under the direction of Rizwan Uddin, Regional PF Commissioner for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, has made significant strides in processing and settling pension claims locally.
This initiative aims to provide timely social security benefits to members and their families.
In a ceremony at the Jammu office, Rizwan Uddin distributed Pension Payment Orders (PPO) to several pensioners, highlighting the office’s commitment to efficient service delivery.
The focus has particularly been on expediting death claims, ensuring that families of deceased members receive their dues promptly.
The beneficiaries included individuals such as Rajni Raina, who received a pension of Rs 4,663, and Bittu Ram, who received Rs 4,033.
Other recipients were Koushalya Devi, a widow who received Rs 4,106, Ashwani Kumar with Rs 4,191, and Aneel Kumar Misri who got Rs 3,753.
These disbursements reflect the EPFO’s dedication to supporting members and their families through the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995, which provides benefits to those with ten or more years of service, and in cases of untimely demise of a member, to their families.
Rizwan Uddin’s team, including Ajit Kumar Mishra, RPFC-II, EO/AO, Pritpal Singh, ASO, and Dr Paramjeet Singh, Senior SSA, has been instrumental in this achievement.
Their collective efforts were praised by pensioners who visited the EPFO in April 2024, expressing satisfaction with the handling of their pension and arrears before the month’s end.
As per a statement, the eligible members can apply for the superannuation pension upon reaching the age of 58 through an online claim via their UAN Login.
Family members of deceased EPS members can claim their monthly pension through an offline process facilitated by the employer of the deceased, it said.
