Ensuring food to labourers real tribute on May Day: Sadhotra

MARH (Jammu), Apr 30: While commemorating Labour Movement and recalling martyrdom of labour leaders who sacrificed for the cause of labour, in 1886 in Chicago, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, former minister and senior leader of J&K National Conference, in a press statement issued here today, said that at present when whole of the country is jointly fighting war against Corona virus, it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure food to every labourer. It shall be the richest tribute to those leaders.
Sadhotra said due to lock down labour class has badly suffered and still labour is stuck and hit hard and are making desperate attempts to reach their homes. On this May Day, Government should ensure food to every labourer so that no body sleeps empty stomach and arrangements should be made to ensure that every labourer reaches his home safely.
Labour is backbone of development in every sphere like Human Development and Industrial Development. On Labour Day, we should resolve to ensure that labour does not feel isolated. Sense of security and belongingness needs to be provided to this work force so that we could lead the world in human development and Industrial development, it all depends on the sincere, dedicated and dynamic functioning of work force.
Sadhotra further said that Government should release fiscal package with a cash transfer of atleast Rs 10,000 to every poor, needy, especially labour, Kisans and youth who have lost jobs and are in distress so that these people may not starve and could have two time meals for them and their family, only then nation can effectively fight successful war against Covid-19. He expressed confidence that Nation will win this war.
