JAMMU, May 31: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) today stressed upon the Government to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply to the people of the State, besides equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
Kuldeep Kumar Rao, an active member of MPEJ, while reacting to the press statements of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and some ministers regarding uninterrupted power and drinking water supply to the public of the State, said that thousand of casual labourers, daily wagers and retired personnel are working with department who facilitate the theft of power with the connivance of higher-ups, as Government is unable to pay the monthly salaries to them.
“Is it possible to ensure the uninterrupted power, drinking water supply to the public of the State in this corrupt system”, he questioned and added, had the Jammu leadership, like its counterpart in Kashmir had discharged its obligations towards this region and played a pro-active role in the State Cabinet, the story of Jammu province today would have been totally different.
Rao further said that the people of Jammu province have never got what was their genuine due share in the socio-economic and political processes during all these more than 70 years of the State’s accession to India. It is Jammu leadership that is responsible for the step-motherly treatment being meted out to the people of this province, as also for the prevailing discontent in this region.
He hoped that the awakened voters of J&K, in the coming Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the State to be held in 2019 and 2020, will certainly exhibit their political maturity and come out of traditional trap of pseudo secularism and communalism being propagated by all these traditional political parties and send our own selfless and honest representatives in Parliament and Assembly for the implementation of public interest laws and for the survival of general public and our coming generation.
