JAMMU, Aug 6: Chairman, Federation of Industries Jammu (FoIJ), Rattan Dogra  has expressed his concerning astonishment over rapid inconsistency towards the effective implementation of J&K UT’s New Industrial Policy announced in April, 2021.
Ina press statement issued here today Dogra said Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Home Minister Amit Shah have personally shown keen interest towards rapid industrialization in J&K by extending the various provisions and Special Fiscal Incentives at par with North Eastern States . Under the able guidance of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the J&K Govt has also devised New Industrial Policy to compliment the Govt of India initiative to attract huge fresh investment aimed at creating large scale employment avenues for local populace besides enabling local ‘Sons of the Soil’ prospective entrepreneurs to establish their start-ups /new units.
FoIJ has repeatedly invited the attention of the J&K Govt towards the lack of industrial culture in J&K which could have prioritized the creation of developed infrastructure suitable for rapid industrialization significantly developed fresh land bank, power availability there at, road connectivity etc. FoIJ fully appreciates the well directed efforts of the concerned authorities to attract fresh investments which is reflected in J&K Govt to apprehend revised estimates of the prospective investments amounting to Rs 50,000 crores, he added.
Dogra said FoIJ has reasons to believe that lack of proper developed infrastructure  could become instrumental in diversion of proposed investments particularly in the manufacturing sector to more attractive destinations elsewhere. Inaccessibility of the region where the manufacturing units are proposed to be located is without any connected power infrastructure which is already being pointed out adversely.
Federation has sought the intervention of the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, his able advisors and the concerned authorities connected with industrial sector more in particular manufacturing sector to equally devote their attention to listen to the woes of the struggling local Micro/Small Sectors and redress their grievances.
