Ensure defeat of racist, communal forces: Balwan

JAMMU, Mar 23:  Making a fervent appeal to Congress workers for adopting result oriented strategy in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, former MLA and general secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee,  Thakur Balwan Singh today said that grass root workers should work in the direction to defeat racist and communal forces especially the BJP, in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections paving the way for victory of visionary Congress candidate, Madan Lal Sharma.
Balwan was addressing a meeting of Congress workers of Marh Assembly Constituency at Rehari, here today.
Madan Lal Sharma, the candidate for Jammu-Poonch constituency was also present in the meeting. About 1200 staunch supporters of the party attended the meeting.
Balwan Singh also highlighted the achievements of the Congress led UPA Government for the upliftment of the downtrodden besides emphasized upon the economic development and prosperity across the nation. He also lauded the role of NC-Congress coalition in the State which brought peace, prosperity and development in all the three regions of the State.
Balwan Singh also hailed Congress High Command, especially AICC, President, Sonia Gandhi for their decision to field Ghulam Nabi Azad for the prestigious Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Constituency.
Balwan Singh hoped that the people across the country will vote and support the young, dynamic and able leadership of Rahul Gandhi rejecting the communal forces in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the workers, Madan Lal Sharma outrightly rejected the media hype created about the Modi wave. He criticized BJP for sidelining the founders of the party including L K Advani, Jaswant Singh, Sushma Swaraj, etc. He said that BJP is a sinking boat having numerous holes and the party is heading towards a historic debacle.
Later, several prominent workers and leaders from Marh including Ram Dass (Ex-Head Master), Charanjeet Singh(Ex-ZEO), Captain Bal Krishan, Captain Rattan Singh, Thakur Jankar Singh, Chairman, Panchayat,  Channu Chak, Natha Ram, Satpal, Thoru Ram, Chaman Lal (Naib-Sarpanch), Captain Puran Singh, Captain Pritam Singh, Krishan Chand and Raghubir Singh joined the Congress Party.
