Ensure adequate security at venues: IGP

JAMMU, Oct 13: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana held a meeting with the police officers for ensuring adequate security, law and order arrangements for National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day Parade which will be observed on October 21 throughout the country to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
There are two functions being organised on October 21. First main function will be held at Police Training Ground, Gulshan Ground, Jammu and second function at Police Martyrs Memorial near Railway Station, Jammu in the morning as well as evening. A blood donation camp will also be organized after the Commemoration Day Parade.
During the meeting, detailed briefings were given by the participants to IGP Jammu Zone with regard to preparation, administrative arrangements, publicity and invitations and other important arrangements required to be made as per past practice and also acknowledge the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
IGP Danesh Rana advised the participants to maintain close liaison and ensure that all the arrangements should be put in place well in time in a coordinated manner.
He also directed the participants to ensure adequate police and security arrangements at both the locations in the morning as well as in the evening in view of the ongoing escalation on the IB and LoC and present unrest in the Kashmir valley.
The meeting was attended by, IG IRP Jammu, DIG Jammu, SSP Jammu, SSP Crime, SSP PCR, SSP Railways, SSP APCR, SSP Security, SP Telecom, all territorial SSPs, Commandants of 10th Battalion and CO of 14th Battalion besides Second Battalion of SDRF Jammu and Estate officer.
